The Australia New Zealand Trauma Registry (ATR) is a collaboration of contributing major trauma centers.
Using combined trauma data, the ATR aims to improve the quality of trauma care and support trauma quality improvement in Australia and New Zealand.
The ATR aims to:
develop a national trauma registry to improve the statistical power, and therefore usefulness of trauma data already being collected for trauma care quality improvement and patient safety;
share information and lessons learned, and to combine efforts in trauma quality improvement;
reduce duplication of effort, improve efficiency and expanding capacity of trauma centrist monitor and further improve the quality of trauma care provided; and to
allow each trauma centre to accurately compare their performance with other centres (through risk-adjusted benchmarking).
